AB212 Retention Stipend Program

History

The Riverside County Child Care Consortium (RCCCC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing leadership and assistance in the establishment of quality child care programs.

On July 1, 2011 the Riverside County Child Care Consortium marked the beginning of the 11th year of our AB 212 Retention Stipend Program. Currently, this program serves state funded child care programs. Participants of the program may receive a retention stipend based upon their educational and professional growth development from July 1, 2011 through June 1, 2012. Opportunities are available for all participants to take either college or university courses, and professional development and activities. This program is available through funding offered by the California State Department of Education.

The AB 212 Retention Stipend Program and requirements have shifted as the program has evolved. One requirement that is consistent regardless of program type is that the applicant must work with the same program for 9 continuous months between July 1, 2011 and June 1, 2012.

The RCCCC encourages new and returning applicants to attend an informational meeting to learn about the stipend program and application process. Meetings are held countywide that will guide perspective applicants through the retention stipend application process. Additionally, staff are available throughout the program year to provide technical assistance to applicants.
