How Can You Be Appointed to your Local Planning Council?
The LPC membership is comprised of 20% from each of the following categories:
1. Consumers: representatives of persons who receive, or have received child care services including parents, grandparents, foster parents, etc.
2. Providers: representatives of the range of child care providers in the county including centers, family child care homes, etc.
3. Public Agencies: representatives of city, county or local education agencies.
4. Community: representatives of agencies, or businesses that provide private funding for child care services or civic or community-based organizations that advocate for child care services.
5. Discretionary: representatives who shall be appointed at the discretion of the BOS and/or the County Superintendent of Schools.
